HAMILTON, Ont. — The Canada Steamship Lines vessel Halifax was welcomed into the Port of Hamilton yesterday, as the first vessel for the 2008 navigation season. The top hat ceremony, an annual tradition for the first vessel of the season to call on the port, was performed by vice-president, operations and harbour master, Linda MacDonald, who welcomed Captain Pierre Raymond, Chief Engineer P. Carron and crew into the port. The MV Halifax arrived from Sandusky with a load of coal.
