TOLEDO — Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit (MSU) Toledo personnel will conduct law enforcement training using a Simunitions system, Saturday, April 19, 2008, from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on board the S.S. Willis Boyer Museum Ship.
The Simunitions system uses paintball guns that have been specially modified to feel like a real gun. The Simunitions gun can shoot a paintball at a higher rate of speed than a standard paintball gun.
The purpose of the training is to put Coast Guard law enforcement personnel into actual real-life situations (some worst-case) in order to improve their judgment and tactical skills under real pressure.
